Robosapiens Mix

Headlining the Breaksnorter Room on Feb 6th are Jamie (ex Drive-By resident) & Steve (ex-Prankster) aka The Robosapiens. Their sound is just what you might expect from an ex-dnb DJ and a techno producer - dirty & techy breakbeat! Their Dead Famous Records label has just released ‘Bodies’ - a rollin’ techster with an evil guitar drop which has been given a psy-breaks remix by Hedflux ( Broken Robot Records). There are 2 more tracks on this DF27 release; TheNine & You Cant Spell Slaughter Without Laughter – check’em all out at www.myspace.com/deadfamousrecordings & as a taster for their Breaksnorter set, here’s a mix the boys recorded for BBC Radio1 last year - Download page

Dan Pearce Eats Everything!

Dan Pearce's long awaited studio mix called 'Autumn Picnic' (under his Eats Everything alter ego) has finally been released and is ready for free download from this site. At Ripper HQ we hear all sorts of DJ mixes and this one is in a different league - strong tunes, perfectly paced and seamlessly sequenced - a mash up of cutting edge fidget and electro house in Dan's inimitable style. Most of the individual tracks are produced or remixed by Dan (the mix was created on M-Audio Torq using the X-Ponent control surface) - contact us if you'd like a tracklisting. Enjoy...

Urban Scrumping

At Motion on 7th August we showcased two of the Urban Scrumping Records stalwarts Sclist & Phaeleh (pronounced ‘fella’) & taking the Breaksnorter sound in a darker dubbier direction in The Cave. Check out http://www.urban-scrumping.co.uk known for their intense, dark, dancefloor grooves but also beautifully crafted headphone music...and to whet your appetite we have some free downloads for you to savour;

Clare Large

Long term Ripper ressie Clare Large has taken a break from gigging abroad a fair bit, and instead has been hard at work in the studio and setting up her label IA; Intelligent Audio.
The label showcases just how diverse her tastes in music are, releasing everything from techno to chillout and loads in between!
Please check the website for more details http://myspace.com/intelligentaudiouk and http://intelligentaudio.net.
There's some releases from established producers like Vince Watson and Kirk DeGiorgio lined up as well as some of Clare's own music and other wicked artists. Catch Clare playing at the next party with loads of label stuff and all sorts of wicked deep phatness ;-)

The Depot

The Depot was to finally re-open its doors at the end of April (then it was May...then September). Work had been going on to expand the venue and huge improvements were planned. Unfortunately the licensing authorities rejected the application on several grounds and the cost of putting these things right, coupled with the legal fees (with no firm guarantee of a license being granted at the end of the process) have made the project financially unviable.

Boat Party

What a wicked boat party...and the icing on the cake was the after-party - at last we've found a good AP venue away from the chavdom of the town centre. Thanks to Catjane, Pooka and Gavin Quiet for keeping it pumping. Next time we walk the plank will be May next year landlubbers...

Downloads

Keep your eye on the download section - Theres a rare chance to hear Colinizer - check out his Lairy Acid mix and there are two new DJ Pod mixes up; Neurodriven and Cropper plus Eats Everything's Autumn Picnic. We’ve devoted a lot of time and energy to creating a website with a wide range of high quality downloadable mixes from chillout to psytrance to bangin’ techno – most at 320kbps.
